6 September 2011 โ€“ The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Airconditioning and Heating has donated a suite of refrigeration simulation training equipment to the Grafton, NSW campus of TAFE.

The simulators are selfcontained, demountable desktop training systems. One simulates a simple split-system air conditioner; the other a basic commercial refrigeration unit.
AIRAH chief operating officer Neil Cox said: โ€œfaults can be inserted, valve blockages simulated and the attendant impact on the system observed.โ€

The simulators were left over from AIRAHโ€™s 2007-2009 Australian Refrigeration Council licensing program, partially funded by the federal government under the Experienced Personโ€™s Transitional Licence Program.

AIRAH has also donated similar equipment to Regency TAFE in South Australia and Skills Institute in Tasmania.
