6 September 2011 – The Australian Institute of Refrigeration, Airconditioning and Heating has donated a suite of refrigeration simulation training equipment to the Grafton, NSW campus of TAFE.

The simulators are selfcontained, demountable desktop training systems. One simulates a simple split-system air conditioner; the other a basic commercial refrigeration unit.
AIRAH chief operating officer Neil Cox said: “faults can be inserted, valve blockages simulated and the attendant impact on the system observed.”

The simulators were left over from AIRAH’s 2007-2009 Australian Refrigeration Council licensing program, partially funded by the federal government under the Experienced Person’s Transitional Licence Program.

AIRAH has also donated similar equipment to Regency TAFE in South Australia and Skills Institute in Tasmania.
