28 March 2012 – A Melbourne sustainability centre has partnered with Charge Point to install a networked electric vehicle charging station.
The solar-powered ChargePoint unit is now available for public use at the Centre for Education and Research in Environmental Strategies in Brunswick East.
The project, realised through a green precincts grant from the federal department of sustainability, is a collaboration with the Victorian department of transport, Delta Energy Systems and Q-Cells Australia.
It is part of the Victorian government’s electric vehicle trial, which is being conducted to better understand the process, timelines and barriers for transitioning to electric vehicle technologies.
