sustainability technology

The Alternative Technology Association (ATA) will provide free renewable energy site feasibility and supplier assessment for Victorian not-for-profit organisations, beginning Friday 17 November.

The ATA has joined the Lord Mayorโ€™s Charitable Foundation in launching the program to help NFPโ€™s understand that the right sustainable technologies can help them save money and reduce their carbon emissions.

The program will also provide financing solutions as part of the program.

โ€œFinding the most appropriate technology, its sizing and design considerations, and how much it will save is complex and beyond the reach of most not-for-profits,โ€ ATA policy and projects manager Damien Moyse said.

โ€œThey typically donโ€™t have the time to take advantage of energy management opportunities โ€“ despite these opportunities potentially freeing up operational funds for better use.โ€

Organisations registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission or that have tax charity concession status with the Australian Tax Office are eligible for the program, including:

  • youth camps and service organisations
  • aged care facilities
  • health facilities and organisations
  • community and sporting clubs
  • administrative offices

The program will be open at the City of Melbourne Bowls Club, Flagstaff Gardens, Melbourne, 9:45 am to noon.
