The audience of nearly 90 people at the Tomorrowland Soirée with lead presenter Mona’s Kirsha Kaechele jumped into the spirit of the night to try to match the creative ideas that poured from the presenters.

Kirsha, with her provocations on social impact, environment and food; Ross Harding of Finding Infinity with his challenges for sustainable transformations of our cities; and Circle Harvest founder Skye Blackburn who challenged all with her provision of insect based food and gave away multiple packets of cricket chips to share with the audience’s friends and families (and shock them a little!)

Big thanks to all our sponsors for the night especially Mulpha Group our lead sponsor (thanks Jan!); WeWork for the amazing space and unbelievably friendly and cool people who helped finesse the night’s presentation and sponsor for the competition prize, Josh Niland’s Fish Butchery who contributed two tickets to Josh’s cooking classes (worth $300 each) and to Kirsha who was so impressed as judge with the entries she kicked in with another two tickets at her expense!

Thanks to our other food and beverage sponsors as well – starting with the super friendly, talented and creative Jen of Zing Fresh catering, Heaps Normal, Little Creatures, Sea Distillery, and Tumblong Hills. All people who know how to have a good time in a good cause!

So without further ado here are the winner of creative ways to improve our planet and our people! You will be receiving your winning tickets soon.

Winner: Liane Rossler, artist

Winning idea: No mow. Let it grow. Dandelions forever. Re look at maintenance procedures moving forward in regards to a changed climate. Not mowing verges to let the natural evolved beauty and biosphere prosper. Waving grasses and dandelions are so much more beautiful than over-mowed dead grass.

Katrina Lobley, freelance travel/arts writer

Idea: Communal pets (to share the pats around)

Caitlin Gibson, TEDxSydney

Idea: universal Tupperware – all lids fit- no one owns it, it just moves through the community. Comes with takeaway, can be reused (is not made of plastic), and dropped off at restaurants or many other depots to be reused again and again.

Winner Name: Naomi Beck, Niche Planning Studio

Idea: Get rid of most cars, then convert highways in cities to urban farms
