The Andrews Government is searching for the next Victorian Government Architect, following the position being left vacant under the previous Liberal government following Geoffrey London standing down last year.
The Office of the Victorian Government Architect provides strategic advice to government on urban design and architecture, advocating for quality design and intelligent urban policy across a range of projects.
The office currently sits in the planning portfolio, however planning minister Richard Wynne said the office would return to the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
“Our future Victorian Government Architect will influence design and innovation across the state,” Mr Wynne said.
“This is a legacy position, independent of politics, and we are determined to attract the best talent.”
An expression of interest process has now begun.
