Architectus has boosted its capabilities in designing for infrastructure projects with the appointment of two new principals, Mark van den Enden and Dario Spralja.
Mr van den Enden, who is joining the Melbourne office, was most recently managing principal of GHD Woodhead’s Melbourne studio. He has also held roles at Woods Bagot, BVN, DWP Suters, and Zwarts + Jansma Architecten in Amsterdam.
His prior projects have included rail infrastructure, education, justice, and sports and leisure facilities both in Australia and Europe.
Mr Spralja is joining the Sydney studio. He has previously worked for Richard Rogers Partnership + HOK on projects including London’s Heathrow Airport Terminal 5, for HASSELL on projects including the Epping to Chatswood rail link, ANZ Headquarters Building in Docklands, Christchurch Airport and A380 gates at Sydney airport.
He has also been a senior member of the design team at PTW and Cox and was project architect for the multi-award winning and uber-sustainable 8 Chifley Square project with Rogers Stirk Harbour and Lippmann Partnership.
In addition to his architecture qualifications, Mr Spralja holds a bachelor of applied science in environmental design from the University of Canberra.
