Global construction tech company Procore has appointed Tom Karemacher as vice-president Asia-Pacific, as part of its plans to expand its presence in the region.
The company, which provides cloud-based applications for construction, has seen client growth increase by 150 per cent since opening its first office in Sydney in April 2017, with local staff now more than 40 people.
A Procore statement said Mr Karemacher would support the company’s international expansion, overseeing sales, marketing and operational strategies across the Asia Pacific region, and lead the Sydney office.
Mr Karemacher has 15 years’ experience in the software-as-a-service field, and prior to Procore was area vice president, commercial sales at Salesforce, where he had worked for 12 years.
“I am excited to be joining the Procore team,” Mr Karemacher said.
“There is a significant opportunity to serve the construction industry in Asia Pacific. The demand is there for a technology vendor that not only has leading technology but can deliver on what they say to the industry.”
Procore chief executive Tooey Courtemanche said it was an exciting time for the company.
“We are thrilled to have Tom on board as we continue our international expansion,” Mr Courtemanche said.
“We’ve been investing heavily in the APAC market, making strong inroads with the local construction industry.”
