US-based EcoDistricts, an organisation dedicated to creating sustainable cities, is searching for two new staff members. Based in Portland, Oregon, you could join former GBCA executive director market development and sustainable communities Adam Beck (now EcoDistricts director of innovation) and help cities and urban development practitioners create resilient and efficient districts and neighbourhoods.

The director of development and partnerships will be responsible for creating and leading EcoDistricts’ development, partnerships and membership strategy with an emphasis on creating robust development-related infrastructure and growing and diversifying revenue streams (from annual revenues of $1.5 million to $3 million over the next five years).

The director of finance and administration will execute all aspects of day-to-day accounting processes as well as define the process and implement the infrastructure/systems needed to support EcoDistricts’ predicted doubling in size over the next five.

Cundall is after a Perth-based ESD engineer to work on sustainable design projects across Australia and globally. The successful applicant will analyse, report, model and document ESD projects and present to clients with the aim of expanding the ESD project portfolio. They will work across a variety of sectors such as education, commercial, healthcare, retail and residential.

GPT Group has a couple of new roles. First is a safety and environment systems manager, who will be responsible for conducting reviews of safety and environment systems to ensure they are efficient and effective in adhering to policies, based in Sydney.

The other is head of property innovations also based in Sydney, responsible for the delivery of sustained “non-core” revenue from the GPT Portfolio through providing services to existing customers (tenants) and visitors (employees and shoppers).

Hays is recruiting for a national sustainability manager for a “leading service provider” in Canberra. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the sustainability team in fulfilling the obligations of green lease schedules, NABERS ratings, providing technical expertise to clients, managing the collation and critical analysis of KPI’s and developing and enhancing systems across the government portfolio. The Climate Bonds Initiative in the UK has a full-time role available for a standards program officer. The position is based in London, and will involve working on climate bond certification with investment banks and other potential issuers, consulting with stakeholders, improving verification processes, providing training for verifiers and contributing to the final version of the Climate Bond Standard. The CBI is looking for applicants with experience in international standards, addressing environmental issues and how processes are applied across different economic sectors. UK work papers and great communications, pitching and presentation skills are a must.
