Bluescope Steel’s technical sustainability manager Nicole Sullivan is joining the Green Building Council of Australia as senior manager – technical solutions.
Ms Sullivan has been with Bluescope for over 20 years, mainly as a senior process engineer before being appointed senior technical advisor – sustainability in 2011, then technical manager – sustainability in 2014.
“Nicole has been responsible for executing BlueScope’s sustainability strategy, working through the company’s efforts to embed lifecycle assessment into its operations, and supporting customers as they seek Green Star ratings,” GBCA executive director of market transformation Jorge Chapa said.
Ms Sullivan will be responsible for assisting in the management and ongoing operations of Green Star. She will also assist GBCA in exploring new areas of concern in the fields of product transparency and responsibility.
“Nicole’s background and extensive experience implementing and verifying sustainability outcomes in large organisations will be an asset as Green Star continues to evolve,” Mr Chapa said.
“Her experience with the challenges faced in bringing transparency and improvements from a lifecycle and supply chain perspective also will be invaluable.”
Ms Sullivan will commence her new role on 19 September.
