Engineering and infrastructure advisory firm Aurecon has appointed Mieszko Iwaskow as transport planning leader.

Mr Iwaskow, based in New Zealand, has experience in transport planning, project delivery and management.

Prior to Aurecon, he was project delivery manager at the New Zealand Transport Agency, where he had been for more than 10 years, following a start at WSP.

Aurecon managing director of infrastructure Ben Stapleton said transport, and ensuring it integrated with other transport and social infrastructure, was an increasingly complex process, and was becoming significantly disrupted by “emerging technologies, unprecedented growth in urban environments and changing expectations of user experience”.

“I’m extremely pleased to have someone of Mieszko’s experience and reputation on board,” he said.

“He will continue with our focus of partnering with clients to shape innovative transport planning that is centred on building local communities and economies through improved connectivity of people, places and goods.”

Mr Iwaskow said he was joining Aurecon at an exciting time.

“This is a particularly exciting period and I am delighted to join the Aurecon team to help build on some of their cutting-edge thinking and be a part of shaping future transport solutions and innovations,” he said.
