Former chief executive of the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors Michael Manikas has been appointed associate director at global professional services company Turner & Townsend.
The company specialises is program management, project management, cost management and advisory across the property, infrastructure and natural resources sectors, with Mr Manikas to lead retail projects in the NSW market.
Mr Manikas was CEO of the AIQS for close to four years, and before that was associate director at Davis Langdon, which was bought up by AECOM.
He told The Fifth Estate he hoped to bring his sustainability knowledge to his new role.
“In my previous roles especially at David Langdon I was heading up the sustainability services for them,” he said.
“I am hoping that in my new role I will also be able to drive the sustainable development in terms of cost consulting on projects for Turner & Townsend.
“Hopefully I will also be able to continue the research we did with the GBCA in my previous role in terms of the costs associated with sustainable development.”
