Sara Stace

After six years working with the Feds, former Major Cities Unit director Sara Stace has moved on to set up her own consultancy, Link Place, working on urban policy and active transport.

While with the federal government, Ms Stace wrote three national government policies: the national urban policy, urban design protocol, and active travel policy on walking, riding and access to public transport. She also contributed to the four annual State of Australian Cities reports from 2010 to 2013, which won a National Award for Planning Excellence from the Planning Institute of Australia earlier this year and recorded millions of downloads.

Ms Stace’s current projects include drafting a discussion paper about active travel in Canberra, and a potential background paper for Infrastructure Australia on urban development and liveability.
