Ryan Falconer has joined Auckland Council as its lead transport adviser. Before taking the new role across the ditch, he’s been based in Western Australia including nearly nine years with Arup as the WA cities leader.
Former NSW Government Architect, Peter Poulet has been appointed as professor of practice architecture for Western Sydney University’s School of Built Environment
The university launched its architecture program just this year. It focuses on urban transformation and providing architects with the necessary technological and intellectual skills to succeed in the modern workforce.
Integral keeps snapping up the talent
ln late July the company headed by Andrew Mather announced it has bought the well-known and well established Umow Lai, taking its staff from 30 to 200.
Earlier Mather had brought across Richard Palmer, a former colleague at WSP.
Now Shayan Aski has joined Integral after just six months at WSP.

Cox Architecture’s Julie Watts has joined Workplace interior design and fit-out company, Unispace.
Watts has worked in Tokyo, London, Sydney and most recently in Melbourne as an associate at Cox Architecture.
thinkstep has welcomed timber expert Stephen Mitchell as a principal consultant. He is chair of the Australasian Environmental Product Declarations Programme, and has co-authored and updated six independently verified EPDs for Australian timber products.
Curtin University has announced a new laboratory that will focus on solving real-world industry problems with blockchain and other disruptive technologies. The Blockchain Research and Development Lab will be run in partnership with Natsoft Corporation and led by Dr Vidy Potdar from Curtin’s School of Management.
“The new lab will be critical in ensuring we educate a new workforce for a blockchain-based economy, by providing training programs for industry and the broader community,” Dr Potdar said.
