Jeroen Weimar

Jeroen Weimar has been appointed chief executive of Public Transport Victoria.

Mr Weimar had been acting in the position since January, before which he was executive director of performance and contract management.

Before joining PTV, Mr Weimar was chief operating officer at First Group plc, where he was responsible for the operation of more than 6000 buses and 17,000 staff operating across the UK and the turnaround of more than 40 regional bus businesses.

“I’m excited to be leading PTV during a time of such significant investment in public transport,” Mr Weimar said.

“I am a strong advocate of inclusion and accessibility and I will focus on delivering public transport which all Victorians can use.”

Transport minister Jacinta Allen said Mr Weimar brought a wealth of experience to the role.

“I’m confident he’s the right person to lead PTV, having overseen the introduction of the Night Network and managing the operational impacts of the level crossing removals program,” she said.
