Smart building expert Jason Cooper has joined building efficiency software company Switch Automation as vice president of global sales.
Mr Cooper, who will be based in San Francisco, has 15 years of technical sales management, working with buildings, smart grids, energy efficiency, health, data centres and resources.
Most of this time was spent with Siemens in Melbourne, though most recently he founded start-up consultancy Muto Consulting.
“Jason’s proven leadership abilities and track record of successfully implementing large scale sales and marketing initiatives further positions Switch Automation to meet the evolving demands of the smart building marketplace,” Switch Automation chief executive Deb Noller said.
“These attributes align well with our vision for global growth.”
Mr Cooper said it was exciting to be working for a leading smart buildings data analytics platform provider.
“The team has the vision, passion, culture and determination to make Switch Automation a driving force of change in the built environment,” he said.
The smart buildings market is poised to grow to $24.7 billion by 2021, a 34 per cent increase on 2016, according to the Continental Automated Buildings Association
