Clean tech start-up Wattwatchers has appointed James Clements as manager of its new business development team, which now has three staff since forming in May following a $4 million Series A capital raise.
Mr Clements has more than 20 years’ experience in technology, and has worked in new energy solutions field with businesses such as Envizi, AGL New Energy, Presync and GE Ecomagination.
Wattwatchers CEO Gavin Dietz said Mr Clements brought “a great mix of hands-on experience, strategic nous and confidence”.
“Over his career he has taken the lead in implementation of major initiatives to develop new markets, evaluate clean technology solutions, and develop new commercial models for technology delivery,” Mr Dietz said.
“Wattwatchers was attracted by his extensive and diverse experience in supply and demand side clean technologies, energy reduction in large energy users, and continuous improvement. He knows what’s required to implement long-term environmental improvement strategies with a particular focus on carbon, energy and waste reduction.”
Mr Clements said he was delighted to join the growing business.
