Ainsley Simpson

The new chief executive officer at the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia (ISCA) has been sourced internally, with former chief operating officer (COO) Ainsley Simpson appointed to the top position today.

Ms Simpson has been acting in the position since former CEO Antony Spriggs left the company in March.

She joined ISCA just over two years ago as the technical and services lead and has since been closely involved in the Infrastructure Sustainability (IS) rating scheme, ISCA’s third-party assessment of infrastructure sustainability.

Ms Simpson previously worked in senior roles in sustainability and the built environment, including chief operating officer at Pacific Environment Ltd.
According to deputy chair of ISCA, Sarah Marshall, Ms Simpson’s  Ainsley’s collaborative approach to engaging industry made her a favourable choice for the job.

“We’re not able to solve industry-wide issues in a siloed approach, we need to engage with the whole broad church of the infrastructure industry to enable sustainable solutions.

“Ainsley’s has already proven she’s the leader who can bring ISCA members and stakeholders together to catalyse change,” said Ms Marshall.

Former CEO Antony Sprigg is currently working as a Green Finance Advisor for a start-up aimed at connecting green finance to sustainable built environment projects, according to his LinkedIn profile.
