Sydney based Edge Environment is continuing to grow its team. New members include building sustainability consultant and engineer Joel Clayton, formerly with Cundall and EMF Griffiths.
Mr Clayton is the fourth new sustainability consultant to join the firm in the past six months, with other recent hires including waste and recycling specialist Gabi Adolphe; resource economics, policy and social life cycle analysis expert Blake Lindley, formerly with COzero; and enterprise sustainability, biogenic carbon and lifecycle assessment specialist James Logie.
Between them, the new team members have experience across Canada, Hong Kong, the UK, Sweden, China and Scandinavia in addition to a wide range of Australian projects in the property and commercial sectors.
Director of Edge Environment Tom Davies told The Fifth Estate that the company’s growth is being driven by the commitment of firms within the private sector to sustainability, with the team now numbering 14.
“We work with the innovators and the leaders in industry,” he said.
Mr Davies said these firms are concerned about climate change and also responding to the international business environment by taking action, rather than taking direction from current federal government policy shifts.
“Adaptation and mitigation activities are very much alive,” he said. “I think we will need to keep growing.”
