The former deputy chief executive of the Committee for Sydney and smart cities expert Johanna Pitman has been appointed by startup incubator BlueChilli to run its smart cities accelerator program, CityConnect.
“We’re excited to announce Johanna’s appointment as she brings a deep understanding of urban issues and economic development,” BlueChilli founder and chief executive Sebastien Eckersley-Maslin said.
The CityConnect program is set to launch this years and brings together corporates, government, investors and entrepreneurs to identify, develop and pilot solutions to make better cities.
Prior to joining BlueChilli, Ms Pitman was deputy chief executive of the Committee for Sydney and policy advisor for the federal Digital Transformation Agency.
Ms Pitman said she was excited about the opportunity to help bring innovative startup solutions to the world’s biggest civic challenges.
“I’m passionate about connecting the right players to make communities more liveable, prosperous and connected,” Ms Pitman said.
“BlueChilli’s CityConnect program is a bold multi-city initiative that will break through the barriers to deploying solutions.”
