Architectural firm Bates Smart has made several senior staff appointments, which it says positions itself for the “next generation of growth”.
There are three new studio directors, along with the retirement of long-term Melbourne-based director Jim Milledge in December, who has been with the company for over 30 years.
Matthew Allen is a noted contributor to design competition and award-winning projects in the Sydney Studio, a Bates Smart media release said.
Julian Anderson will relocate from Sydney to Melbourne, and brings large project delivery capacity to the Melbourne Studio.
Edwina McDermott, also Melbourne based, will take on a key practice management and operations role.
