Urban development expert Pru Sanderson has become design and consultancy firm Arcadis’ first Melbourne city executive. The appointment comes as the company experiences steady growth in the Melbourne area.

Ms Sanderson has expertise in urban development, place-making and city sustainability, with experience in both the public and private sectors.

Prior to Arcadis, she was a director with consultancy Sanmor and Associates, global business leader city development at GHD, and chief executive of VicUrban, now Places Victoria.

“As we continue to grow and win city-changing projects in Melbourne, it’s crucial that we have the best holistic thinkers and place-makers in our business,” client and corporate development director Arcadis Australia Pacific Stephen Uhr said.

“Pru brings strong city-level experience to Arcadis and I’m very excited to welcome her to the team.”

Ms Sanderson said Arcadis had the ability to “strategically plan, design, deliver and manage major infrastructure”.

“Melbourne is rapidly evolving and the Victorian State Government has a clear strategy to enhance Melbourne’s liveability as the population grows. I can’t wait to work with my fellow Arcadians to help bring that to life,” she said.
