Account Manager – PR and Social Media

Job Description: PR and Social Media Account Manager

The PR and Social Media Account Manager will play a crucial role at The Bravery by providing support to their assigned team and managing their stable of clients. Duties and responsibilities relate to internal relationships, external relationships, plus financial and administrative tasks. A successful applicant will show proficiency in the following activities:

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Day to day running and management of client accounts, including WIPS and meetings
  • Key point of contact for assigned clients and relevant media
  • Assist with the generation of media materials and media kits
  • Assist with client research
  • Manage and or attend relevant client events
  • Manage and execute client campaigns
  • Provide transparent and accurate reporting
  • Proactively contribute ideas to projects
  • Consistently demonstrate problem solving skills and adopt a positive attitude in the face of challenges
  • Actively participate in client brainstorming meetings and offering ideas, including strategy development
  • Demonstrate respect for colleagues at all levels
  • Contribute to a positive work environment
  • Manage relevant team members to ensure a high standard of deliverables
  • Acting as a mentor for relevant team members
  • Provide training to relevant team members
  • Attend events, business building seminars and training seminars
  • Develop new business opportunities, proposals
  • Grow accounts organically – highlighting new business opportunities to relevant team members
  • Represent The Bravery at industry events when appropriate

Financial and Administrative:

  • Managing client budgets
  • Creating and assisting in the development of presentations
  • Developing internal databases
  • Oversight of internal social media channels

Qualifications and personality:

  • Relevant degree qualifications desired but not essential
  • 3-4 years full-time communications experience
  • Knowledge of the traditional and digital media industry, plus sustainability / social cause sector
  • Expertise in MS / MAC Office
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Positive, pro-active, helpful persona
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and workload during peak campaign periods
  • A demonstrated interest in helping to promote positive change
  • Driven to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated interest in progression into an Account Director role in the long-term

Reporting Lines:

Reporting directly to the Communications Director.

Professional and Personal Development:

You will be supported, beyond the day-to-day, to develop your personal and professional skills at The Bravery. This will take the form of mentoring from the Senior Management team, and attending internal training sessions on sustainability and other communications disciplines through our tailored training program.

Benefits and Equipment:

You will be eligible for four weeks of annual paid holiday leave and 10 days of paid sick leave or carers / family leave per annum.

Expected work hours range between 8:30am to 6pm each week, with a minimum of 37.5hrs a week and 1hr lunch breaks. We offer all team members a flexible working environment through our work from home scheme.

Communications Manager (Part-time 10-mth Contract)

The Communications Manager (Part-time 10-mth Contract) will play a crucial role at The Bravery by providing support to a specific suite of our clients that work within the waste, urban planning / infrastructure and utilities sectors.

This team member will initially be responsible for one client account (client disclosed upon application) and the role is being offered at a three-to-four day working week. Which days are worked, and if they are spread out across the week or worked concurrently, is flexible and will form part of the role negotiations. The commencement date is end Feb 2016 and conclusion end Dec 2016.

There is opportunity to grow role to fulltime, and expand across further clients within The Bravery portfolio. Applicants with this desire / flexibility will be highly considered within the recruitment process.

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
