Good Environmental Choice Australia is on the hunt for an entrepreneur to shape a new future for itself after its chief executive Rupert Posner left this week to pursue interests in an “unrelated industry”.
GECA chair Gordon Renouf confirmed that big changes could be underway for the organisation that assesses building materials for their environmental profile. this includes a potential partnership with another organisation.
Industry sources said this was likely to be the Australian Institute of Architects but neither Mr Renouf nor AIA chief executive David Parken would comment on this.
Mr Renouf said the search for an entrepreneur was to see if there were ways to “promote the eco label in general and to also move beyond and expand our range of offerings beyond the eco label.
“We have recently advertised a position…to help us explore new opportunities.”
Industry sources said the organisation had come under pressure in recent times and that there had been serious staff reductions.
