Engineering consultancy Norman Disney & Young has been announced as a finalist in the World Green Building Council’s inaugural Asia Pacific Regional Network Leadership Awards in Green Building, and is the only Australian firm to be on the shortlist.
NDY has been shortlisted for the Business Leadership in Sustainability award, which recognises companies that have social, environmental and economic sustainability as core to their business.
“NDY has consistently been at the forefront of green building solutions and was a founding member of the Green Building Council of Australia,” WorldGBC chief executive Jane Henley said. “We applaud NDY for its ongoing innovation, leadership and continued contribution to a sustainable built environment.”
Other finalists for the award, which attracted 55 entrants from the Asia Pacific region, included Arup (Hong Kong), City Developments Limited (Singapore), ITC Limited (India), Keppel Land (Singapore), Lend Lease Asia (Singapore) and Swire Properties Limited (Hong Kong).
GBCA chief executive Romilly Madew congratulated NDY for its success.
“NDY has been a champion of more efficient, healthy, productive and resilient buildings for many years, has worked on 68 projects certified under the Green Star rating system, and has supported the development of the Green Star – Performance rating tool for existing buildings,” Ms Madew said.
The winner will be announced in Singapore at a gala dinner on 3 September 2014.
