Frasers Property Australia has taken out the top award at the national CitySwitch green office awards, which recognises companies that have demonstrated outstanding environmental leadership.
Frasers were named the National Signatory of the Year, beating a range of impressive contenders with a program that featured a series of upgrades at their St Kilda office that focused on health and wellbeing. The program also boosted the building’s NABERS rating from four to five stars, while accommodating a growing staff.
The National New Signatory of the Year award went to KPMG, which greatly improved tenancy energy performance, achieved a 72 per cent waste recovery rate and reduced paper use by more than eight million sheets.
WAX design and dsquared consulting were also awarded for Partnership of the Year, working together to get solar on the roof.

Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore said the CitySwitch program had come along way since 2005, when it just covered three local councils.
“It has spread across the country and is now receiving global recognition for the way it has engaged businesses of all sizes to make a difference on carbon emissions,” Ms Moore said.
“It’s a heartening sign that Australian business is serious about its environmental impacts, and also that it has been quick to grasp the business benefits of a green economy. Since 2011, CitySwitch members across Australia have slashed emissions while saving a combined $34 million in electricity bills.
“CitySwitch National Signatory of the Year, Frasers, achieved a 4.5 star NABERS Indoor Environment Quality rating with improvements to lighting, air quality, natural ventilation and maximising use of natural light.”
Ms Moore said CitySwitch had gained international recognition, being announced as a finalist for a C40 Cities Award, which will be announced on 1 December.
“The fact that CitySwitch is in line to receive a major international accolade is a credit to the businesses that have enthusiastically jumped on board this great initiative,” she said.
“I congratulate all finalists and winners and thank them for being a part of the CitySwitch Green Office program.”
