BRIEF: Clean tech start-up Wattwatchers has inked a deal with hardware manufacturer Fusion HVAC to provide smarter, more energy efficient airconditioning for sport centres and other large volume spaces.

The Australian company’s clamp-on devices that show where and when energy is being consumed in real time will be built into the airconditioning units to make them more intelligent.

As well as providing the smart devices to the HVAC manufacturer, Wattwatchers will guide the company to develop its machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities so that its products will “grow smart organically.”

The Brisbane-based manufacturer is known for its modular HVAC systems that fuse energy efficiency and ductless design into modular HVAC for large indoor spaces such as IKEA, Bunnings and sports centres.
