10 June 2014 – BRIEF: The NSW government has released land for another 6600 homes in Western Sydney, adding to about that had already been built since 2011.
Mr Baird, joined by planning minister Pru Goward and treasurer Andrew Constance said the new land release lots were around railway stations and contributed to a current housing “boom” in Western Sydney.
The new release areas are in:
- Marsden Park North: Release of land for precinct planning, with potential for up to 4000 homes close to the future Cudgegong Road Station on the North West Rail Link
- Redbank, Richmond: Rezoning of land for up to 1400 new homes close to Richmond Station
- Ashlar Golf Course, Blacktown: Rezoning of land located near Blacktown and Marayong train stations for up to 1200 new homes.
The government also lifted the threshold for the First Home Buyers Grant for new homes by $100,000 to $750,000.
