The Alternative Technology Association has launched a free independent service providing solar and battery advice.
The online service gives people looking to buy a rooftop solar and/or battery system guidance on the right size for them, along with expected energy bill savings and payback times. The advice takes into account location, energy consumption, electricity tariff and budget. It is also presented now, and into the future.
“When it comes to solar, one of the hardest decision for households is what size system they should get,” ATA policy and research manager Damien Moyes said. “This is even more complex when it comes to batteries.
“This type of advice is not provided accurately by solar installers and should be obtained before seeking the usual three quotes.”
Mr Moyes said it was a good time to be putting solar on roofs.
“Summer is the solar season – it’s prime time for this kind of technology – and we hope to be helping as many people as we can through our free solar advice service.”
