A proposal for a major housing development at Dapto is facing scrutiny over the number of homes set aside for affordable housing.

A development application for the $49 million project proposes 144 apartments and 32 townhouses on the former Dapto Public School site, in the New South Wales city of Wollongong.

An earlier proposal for the site in 2010 would have provided 110 affordable units, but under the new scheme the number of affordable homes will be cut back to just 31. Read more here.
