20 September 2011 – Melbourne’s Carlton Eco Neighbourhood  project which educates residents in sustainability issues will be launched on Friday 23 September.

The project  involves training 12 new residents in the Carlton Housing Redevelopment to become experts in the state-of-the art sustainability features of the new buildings at 522 Drummond St, 151 in Princes St and 20 Reeves Street, Carlton.

The aim is to bring the buildings’ green potential to life by empowering a diverse group of new public and private housing residents to guide their neighbours as they get used to living with solar-heating, recycling and composting, grey water use and double-glazed windows.

The launch marking World Green Building Week is at 1.45pm at Carlton Baths Community Centre, 248 Rathdowne St, Carlton.
