Warren Guymer at a Property Funds Association conference in Canberra 2011

16 July 2012 –Warren Guymer has confirmed he left Thinc Projects, where he was Melbourne based, and headed to China early in the year to run a major shopping centre development program by UK supermarket chain Tesco.

Guymer is development manager for Tesco Property, based in Beijing.

Each of the shopping centres it will develop will have a Tesco hypermarket as anchor tenant, as well as other major tenants, cinemas, restuarants, fashion and specialty shops, Guymer says.

Currently though, exact plans are still in planning mode. Guymer reports that the company is “currently reviewing our business plan as to how many developments will be rolled out and when, sustainability strategy and so on.”

At Thinc Projects Guymer was associate director working alongside sustainability champion and uber networker Elena Bondareva who has also left the company to head up her own consultancy, which includes some international projects. Guymer was also on the sustainability committee for the Property Funds Association.

Previously Guymer worked was senior project manager at Sweett Group in the UK and project engineer at Lend Lease.
