2 October 2012 — The conflicting interests of agriculture and mining in sensitive landscapes will be the focus of a talk by New England Independent MP Tony Windsor on October 2. Mr Windsor will identify the failures of the planning system to minimise the risk of permanently damaging Australia’s best agricultural land. The Australian Academy of Science public lecture is titled Resolving the conflict between agriculture and mining over prime land on the Liverpool Plains. Mr Windsor will speak at The Shine Dome, Gordon Street, Canberra on Tuesday, 2 October from 6pm.
