15 November 2012 — Parsons Brinckerhoff has appointed Barbara Pedersen as principal environmental consultant in its Perth office.
Ms Pedersen has more than 17 years’ experience in coastal and port projects – both in the public and private sector.
“I have worked with clients on complex projects including, most recently, my involvement in foreshore management for the new residential development at Shorehaven,” she said.
“I also contributed to coastal engineering assessments of the vulnerability of Port Hedland to climate change,’ said Ms Pedersen.
Prior to joining Parsons Brinckerhoff, Ms Pedersen’s leadership roles included managing the team of coastal planners at the Department for Planning and Infrastructure in Western Australia.
Under her leadership, the coastal team won a Planning Institute of Australia National Award in environmental planning for its coastal planning program, and was a finalist in the WA Premier Awards for sustainable environments for the Coastwest grants program.
Ms Pedersen has a Master of Science from the University of Western Australia and is WA chair of the Environmental Planning Chapter of the Planning Institute of Australia.
