28 March 2012 – In brief: Leighton Properties has signed a project agreement with development partners,Landcom and Mirvac for the next phase of work at the $1.7 billion mixed-used community Green Square town centre in Sydney’s inner south.

“Our combined aim is to create a precinct that will become the centerpiece of this new commercial, residential and retail hub,” managing director Leighton Properties, Mark Gray said.

Green Square Town Centre, expected to start in the second half of 2012, will evolve over the next 10 years. The centre will embody an urban village concept, interlinking public domains, from green, open spaces to piazzas. It will include about 1,600 residential units, 12,000 square metres of retail space and up to 48,000 square metres of A-Grade commercial space.
