27 June 2012 – Michael Zorbas and Deborah Dearing are the latest high level staffers to leave Stockland.
Mr Zorbas, who has been general manager government relations at Stockland for five years, will from August be head of strategy and corporate communications for Grocon.
His former roles include general manager government relations at Stockland, chief advocate for the Property Council of Australia, deputy head of media for the Liberal Democrats in the United Kingdom and executive officer for the Motor Trades Association of Australia. Mr Zorbas is also past director of the Canadian Government’s Forum of Federations, a former member of the Federal Executive Committee of the Liberal Democrats and served two terms on the SBS Community Advisory Committee.
Deborah Dearing, national manager strategic urban planning, has also announced she is resigning to embark on a consultancy after nine years with the developer. Ms Dearing is previously a NSW president of the Australian Institute of Architects, and a former executive director of the NSW Department of Urban Affairs and Planning.
Stockland’s sustainability chief Siobhan Toohill is leaving at the end of this month to pursue a new consultancy business. The moves follow major restructuring in the company and retrenchment of about 30 key staff earlier this month.
