9 December 2013 — Greens senators Christine Milne and Scott Ludlam are searching for communications advisors.
For the Communications Advisor role with Senator Ludlam, you will develop and implement an all-platform communications strategy to enhance the profile of Senator Scott Ludlam and the work of the Australian Greens in WA.
Candidates should have a background in broadcasting and/or public relations, ideally including online campaigning. Tasks will include liaison with the State and Federal press galleries, TV and radio, online media, street press, niche media and other non-traditional channels as appropriate. The role will include travel to Canberra during sitting weeks, and working in close collaboration with the Campaigns Advisor during non-sitting weeks.
This position will appeal to an experienced communications professional who is at home working in a very busy, fast-paced and demanding environment.
Greens Leader Senator Christine Milne is also looking for a Media Officer.
The successful applicant will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills, qualifications and/or experience in journalism or a related discipline, and a willingness to rise before it shines to get our media monitoring done.
The Media Officer is one of the contacts for the Leader and helps the Media Adviser generate stories, opinion articles and specialist media as well as responding to inquiries.
The officer has the main responsibility for preparing an early morning wrap of the day’s news, as well as monitoring media throughout the day, and will help write media releases and other communications. The officer is part of our communications team and reports to the Media Adviser.
