22 May 2012 – Two prime media jobs have become available. One for Greens Leader Christine Milne, based in Canberra and another The Climate Institute for the much anticipated Asset Owners Disclosure Project.
Senator Milne is seeking a leader’s media adviser to bolster capacity in the media and advisory team. The job involves responding to interview requests, briefing Senator Milne, writing media releases and organising conferences. Salary is beteween $68,874 and $82,611 with an optional allowance of $25,750 payable in lieu of overtime. Details: www.greensmps.org.au
The Climate Institute position is for an experienced climate change campaigner ideally with finance and US experience to “orchestrate and channel the core messages and manage the campaign at an activity level,” for the AODP/
The project is expected to have a significant impact on climate change and the finance industry, by “assessing how the world’s largest investors – such as pension and superannuation funds, insurance companies and sovereign wealth funds – manage climate change related risks and opportunities.”
The position is to also manage a social media platform, PARETO, which aims to engage members of pension funds and superannuation fund towards ” co-ordinated pressure on their fund to disclose how it is managing climate change risks and opportunities.”
