CBRE won the Initiative in Customer Service Excellence Award 2011 for its management of the DEXUS property group portfolio while Neil Wood was named facilities manager of the year.

Presenting the awards, Mark Dreyfus, Cabinet Secretary and Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, said: “all those who work in managing buildings will continue to think more and more about energy efficiency, about the kinds of measures that can be taken to reduce energy use and, of course, save money as we go about it”

Chief Executive Officer, Nicholas Burt, believes the high standard of all entries was reflective of a renewed vigour within the industry.

“Quality and sustainability now outweigh price when considering the value of a facilities management offering,” he said.
“It’s encouraging to see so many professionals and organisations eager to be recognised by their peers.”

A message from the Prime Minister, JuliaGillard, conveyed to the event, said the facilities management sector made an important contribution to Australia’s economic wellbeing.
