7 November 2013 — The recently created Climate Council is on the lookout for three new staff members.
The roles are:
- Chief Operating Officer
- Head of Communication
- Research Manager
The chief operating officer’s primary role will be to support the CEO in the day-to-day running of the Council. The COO will manage all internal operations, including the financial, legal and HR responsibilities of the organisation. The role will require exceptional management skills, and an ability to relate to both the staff and volunteers.
The head of communication will work with experts to develop effective communications that provide accurate, relevant and accessible information to the public.
Reporting to the communications manager, the research manager will lead the research strategy and implementation for the Climate Council. The research Manager will lead the process of synthesising the available research and developing authoritative, accessible resources for the Australian public.
The Climate Council is an independent non-profit organisation that provides clear, expert advice to the Australian community on climate change. The Council launched as a non-profit organisation after the Climate Commission was dissolved in September 2013.
