24 July 2014 — BRIEF: The Clean Energy Council has released a solar power guide for consumers that details a seven-step process to help select the ideal solar system.

The guide was launched today (Thursday) at the opening of the ATRAA solar conference and exhibition, part of Clean Energy Week.

Clean Energy Council acting chief executive Kane Thornton said the new guide would help people to understand the process of buying and installing solar systems and avoid common pitfalls.

“People should be careful and do their research when making any major purchase, whether we are talking about a laptop, a car or a solar power system,” Mr Thornton said.

“The solar installation guide cuts straight to the chase and gives consumers a seven-step process – from finding the right system to negotiations with electricity retailers, connecting to the grid and signing contracts.”
