31 October 2012 — Newsweek, a US weekly news magazine, has ranked CBRE Group as the greenest real estate services firm in its 2012 Green Rankings. This is the fourth consecutive year that CBRE has been awarded the ranking. CBRE was ranked 96 overall out of 500 major US-based publicly-traded companies. The ranking is based on each company’s environmental impact, management and disclosure efforts. Last year it was 128. CBRE president Bob Sulentic said CBRE’s commitment to sustainability was deeply embedded in its culture. Earlier this year, CBRE launched of the Real Green Research Challenge, a four-year, US$1million commitment to fund leading-edge sustainability research and innovation relating to commercial real estate.
