31 October 2012 — An office with no ceiling, no floor covering, rough, concrete columns and sewage pipes on show will be on display on 3 and 4 November. It is the architecture studio of BVN Donovan Hill, opening its doors as part of Sydney Open. Studio director Bill Dowzer said editing the building and removing what was “not absolutely necessary” was the driver behind the design. Also open at the Hilton Hotel complex are 10 floors of commercial office space and the top four floors occupied by Challenger Bank.  BVN Donovan Hill also reworked these floors to provide a new workplace – cutting  a massive hole through the middle of the building to connect the floors with a staircase, enabling staff to move around without using the lifts.
