24 April 2013 — The Bureau of Meteorology is after a communication manager to lead its national marketing and communication function. Based in Docklands, the position has a salary of $110,414 – $124,008 plus an additional 15.4 per cent superannuation.

The role includes managing the Bureau’s marketing and liaison function and providing strategic advice on communication management. The successful applicant will be part of a senior team responsible for leading a flexible and responsive bureau-wide communication function contributing to the Bureau’s Strategic Plan (2010–2015).

The manager, marketing and communication will lead a team within the Bureau’s communication section and has a key role in ensuring that the organisation’s products and services are effectively marketed to end users and the broader community.

This includes providing strategic direction and building staff capacity in the areas of product and service development, project management, stakeholder engagement, marketing and communication.
