6 December 2011 – Australia has announced it will support an innovative project to green an entire street in a disadvantaged South African community as the United Nation’s  COP17 climate change summit ends on Friday.

Australia is supporting the Cato Manor project, led by the Green Building Council of South Africa and the World Green Building Council.

It is being jointly funded by AusAid and the Department of Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, and facilitated by the Green Building Council of Australia.
