Peter Johnson

8 November 2012 — Arup’s Fire Safety Engineering principal Peter Johnson has been appointed to the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering.

Mr Johnson is among 37 researchers, technological scientists and engineering, innovation and business leaders to be elected as Fellows of the Academy. Other Arup principals who have become Fellows in previous years include David Singleton, Robert Care, Tristram Carfrae and John Nutt.

Established as the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences in 1976, ATSE is now an independent body of 800 Australian engineers and scientists who promote the development and adoption of existing and new technologies to improve society and the economy.

As part of his Arup role, Mr Johnson has been heavily involved with high-profile projects such as Heathrow Airport T5 Terminal, Hyderabad Airport International Terminal in India, CSIRO/NASA Deep Space Tracking Station Upgrade in the ACT and the 18km road and rail sub-sea Fehmarnbelt Tunnel in Denmark.
