8 August 2012 – Thousands of tiny, edible plants will form a giant green cube as part of this spring’s public art festival Art & About Sydney.

Fully recyclable, The Great Crate will be on display at the entrance to the Green Square train station from 21 September to 21 October.

The plants, for the 10 metre by 10 metre structure will be grown from broad bean seeds now being distributed to Alexandria, Beaconsfield, Rosebery and Waterloo residents and businesses.

Meanwhile, free community workshops on how to build a planter box and grow broad bean seeds will be held this Saturday, 11 August at 10am at Beaconsfield Park, Queen Street, Beaconsfield and at 2pm at Joynton Park, Victoria Park Parade, Zetland
