7 August 2012 – The Queensland Premier Campbell Newman might have signalled his anti green stance the moment he took office, but Queensland motorists are embracing a “cleaner, greener motoring future with more hybrid cars being sold in the Sunshine State than ever before”.  Yes, the numbers might still the direction is positive.
According to the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland, quoting figures from the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries, Queensland private and fleet buyers snapped up 1047 hybrid vehicles in the first six months of the year – a 33.5 per cent jump in the last financial year.

The RACQ will this Friday host a GreenZone Drive event to allow members of the public to test-drive the latest and most environmentally friendly hybrid, electric and diesel cars, at the RACV Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast.
