30 January 2013 – The 2013 Telstra Australian Business Awards opens for nominations on 11 February. Arron Wood, managing director of Firestarter, a winner from last year, urged other environmental services sector companies to take part in the awards. “Our business is all about environmental education which is vital as the world economy becomes increasingly green – this year alone will see up to 20,000 students participate in our Kids Teaching Kids Program,” he said.
“Winning the Telstra News Limited Micro Business Award was huge justification that not only are we about doing good but we also have a credible business model and that’s hugely important in attracting additional investment as we grow the program internationally.” Nominations can be made at www.telstrabusinessawards.com or by calling 1800 AWARDS. Entries are open until 4 April. The five awards categories are for start-up, micro, small, medium and regional businesses.
