18 May 2012  – The federal government has announced winners in the first round of the $40 million Energy Efficiency Information Grants program.

They include the Victorian Employees’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry with a $1,873,134 grant for its “Carbon Compass” program and the Master Grocers Australia/Liquor Retailers Australia with $ $990,615 for an energy Efficiency Information Program

The Australian Conservation Foundation also won  $988,418 for its program, Spark! Energy for Change.

“Small and medium businesses and community groups are under a lot of time pressure. As a result, they often don’t have the time, resources or information to find out how to save money by improving energy efficiency,” Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, Greg Combet said.

Round two of the $40 million EEIG program opens in October.
