Lendlease Building has a new opportunity for an experienced Sustainability professional to lead the WA and SA regions as Sustainability Manager. The primary purpose of the role is to coach, guide and challenge the Building businesses in WA & SA (and other states in times of peak demand) to achieve excellence in environmental and social outcomes on our projects, and to support the business to achieve our global sustainability targets.

In WA, the responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting project teams to set and deliver project sustainability strategies in line with Lendlease’s Global Sustainability Framework and global targets
  • Supporting the WA business to take required action to achieve Lendlease’s global sustainability targets
  • Advising on sustainability global best practice, third party rating tools, regulatory or legislative changes, ethical and governance trends etc relevant to regional sectors of interest, to help the business maintain sustainability leadership, competitive advantage, and new business opportunities.
  • Educating new employees about sustainability generally and specifically the Lendlease Building sustainability expectations, business rules, targets, and processes.

In SA, responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting project teams to set project sustainability strategies in line with Lendlease’s Global Sustainability Framework and global targets.  (Note, unlike WA, delivery of these strategies in SA will be managed by others).
  • Supporting the SA business to take required action to achieve Lendlease’s global sustainability targets
  • Advising on sustainability global best practice, third party rating tools, regulatory or legislative changes, ethical and governance trends etc relevant to regional sectors of interest, to help the business maintain sustainability leadership, competitive advantage, and new business opportunities.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Sustainable Building Design / Management equivalent, Architecture, Engineering or Building. You’ll demonstrate a minimum 5 years’ experience in a sustainability role / delivering sustainability on projects in the construction or property sector. Green Building and Green Building Rating Tool experience is desirable. You’ll have experience in working with a variety of stakeholders and with project and change management.
